Heavy FEL work (3500lbs)
I bring home 3500 pounds of material every few months that won’t fit in the bed of my truck; I’d like to be able to put forks on the loader for these types of loads, but I don’t need hydrostatic or any other fancy transmission.
The Kubota M9540 (95 hp) is only rated to lift 2900 lbs at the bucket center, while the Kioti DK90 with the KL901 loader can lift 3,749 lbs to full height at the pivot pins. Do you need a tractor? How about one of those off-road fork lifts…? Palletized concrete pavers or empty pallets could be used to transport materials for personal use.
A skid steer or compact track loader can’t do what my CTL can. A Lull ‘rough terrain’ forklift has a 30′ lift height and can pick up over 10k at that height. I see those types of machines on IronPlanet all the time for pretty cheap.
I have a Mahindra 5525 (54 hp engine, 45 hp pto, 2WD, power steering, gear tranny 8F/2R) with the ML250 FEL, which has a 2950 lb lift capacity to full height (10.5 ft). For heavier loads, you should replace the bucket with forks, preferably with a skid steer type attach.

Lower capacities start around 3,000 lbs. and can go up to over 50,000 lbs. forklift capacity is a measurement of how much weight a particular forklift can lift.
What size forklift do I need?
Although forklifts are versatile machines, you’ll need the right size for the job. Standard forklifts are 4 to 7 feet wide and 8 to 10 feet long, with outdoor or rough terrain forklifts being longer than 10 feet. Narrow aisle forklifts, such as walkie stackers and side loaders, are less than 5 feet long.
What is load capacity of forklift?
While your forklift may be rated to lift 6,000 pounds, its maximum capacity may be reduced depending on the shape of the load you’re moving.
How much does a 3000 capacity forklift weigh?
You know your forklift can safely lift 3000 pounds; multiply 3000 by 1.5 to get 4500 pounds; multiply 3000 by 2 to get 6000 pounds; and finally, multiply 3000 by 2 to get 6000 pounds; this forklift will weigh between 4500 and 6000 pounds.
How much can a 6000 lb forklift lift?
This is a product of load weight times distance from the fulcrum (i.e., load moment = weight x distance), and it determines how much overturning force is applied to the forklift. For example, a forklift rated to carry 6,000 lbs at a 24u2032u2032 would have a maximum load moment of 144,000 pounds.
What are the 7 classes of forklifts?

What is the load capacity?
The amount of acceleration a stage can impart to a mass is limited by the amount of accelerating force it can produce without exceeding a load capacity.
How is forklift capacity calculated?
You can calculate the Maximum Load Moment for any forklift by multiplying the weight rating by the center load distance state on the data plate, such as a 5,000 lb capacity multiplied by a 24 inch load center (5,000 x 24), giving you a Maximum Load Moment of 120,000 inch pounds in the example above.
