Not to be confused with Ford Motor Company or Fordson, the Ford Tractor Company was a Minneapolis-based company that built tractors to facilitate “horseless farming” from 1916 to 1917.
History
W. Baer Ewing and Paul W. Ford formed the Ford Tractor Company on March 15, 1915, possibly hoping for a quick settlement with Henry Ford to acquire the Ford name, as Ford marketed his own line of tractors under the Fordson brand.
Nebraska Tractor Law
The Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory was founded in 1919 as a result of an unsatisfactory Ford tractor, which prompted Nebraska to pass a law requiring tractors to be tested on a standardized basis.
