Farmall C
From 1948 to 1951, the Farmall C was a small two-plow row crop tractor produced by International Harvester under the Farmall brand. The C was incrementally updated with new model numbers such as the Super C, 200, 230, and 240 but remained essentially the same machine.
Description and production
The Farmall C replaced the Farmall B in 1948, with a straight, splined rear axle and larger wheels replacing the B’s tricycle configuration.
Farmall 200
The Farmall 200 was a rebadged Super C with minor improvements that replaced the Super C in 1954. The 200 introduced the “Hydra-Creeper” option, which allowed the transmission to be powered by a hydrostatic drive, and it was marketed as an ideal tractor for farms with 80 acres (32 ha) to 120 acres (49 ha).
Farmall 230
The 230 differed from the 200 in terms of styling and compression ratio, and approximately 12,000 230s were produced, with each selling for around $2,200.
Farmall 240
In 1958, the Farmall 240 replaced the 230, and it was restyled to match the new squared-off look of larger tractors. About 4,200 240s were produced, with prices ranging from $2,300 to $3,000.
